It finds applications due to both excellent corrosion resistance and high strength.

The 2205 grade steel is one of the most widely used ferritic and austenitic duplex stainless steel. 2205 has been a practical solution to chloride stress corrosion cracking problems experienced with 304 304l or 316 316l stainless.
