2006 Jetta Passenger Door Wont Lock

I called the dealer here in austin tx today and they told me that is a very common problems with the jetta model and it has happened to hundreds of costumers.

If the power locks seem to be working just fine from within the car then you need to replace your key fob battery. The interior dome lights turn on when the door is opened. If your key fob fails to lock or unlock your car all you need to do is to replace its battery. Is there a way to manually lock the front passenger door of a 2006 jetta tdi without using the electronic lock.

When this problem started i also noticed that the car stopped beeping when the doors were locked with the remote. The back passenger side door lock quit working and the door won t lock at all. Locks work from the switch but not the remote. The electric locks quit working.

Then when i hit the lock button all doors lock except the rear passenger door. The battery is likely dead and needs to be replaced but the remote s may also need to be reprogrammed to work. If this happens the problem is with the remote. The front driver s side door won t lock when using the key fob or pressing the lock button on the door handle.

This issue also indicates a bad lock actuator. I use the remote key entry to unlock all the doors hit the button twice. I hear all doors unlock. The door lock works in only one direction.

I have ordered the part to fix the issue electronic but it won t arrive f. Rear passenger door does not lock properly.
